Taylor Friehl is a Midwest-based multidisciplinary creative with a passion for clear storytelling, thoughtful design, and meaningful impact. Originally from Minnesota, she relocated to Colorado where she launched North Bound ’93, a laid-back outdoor clothing brand that continues to release seasonal drops and host pop-up shops.
In 2017, Taylor joined Mortarr, a digital platform connecting the commercial construction and design industries. As resident design guru, she wore many hats—art director, UX/UI lead, and brand steward—helping shape Mortarr’s visual identity from the ground up. After Mortarr’s acquisition by Ecomedes, Inc. in 2022, she transitioned to Design Lead, where she supported the integration of both companies and helped guide brand and product direction alongside the CMO and product owner.
Her work during this time was recognized by the Advertising Federation of Minnesota and the Telly Awards, and she was named one of AdFed MN’s 32 Under 32.
Today, Taylor serves as Director of Marketing and Creative Strategy for SMS Collaborative—the parent company of Parallel and Verico Audit—where she leads brand development, messaging, and strategic communications across all three organizations. At Parallel, she ensures client excellence by bringing clarity, creativity, and consistency to every engagement, helping sustainability-minded companies in the life sciences and built environment advance their strategies with confidence. At Verico Audit, she supports industry trust and transparency by shaping the brand voice of a third-party verifier focused on credible sustainability claims.
Outside of work, you’ll likely find Taylor hiking through nature, testing new cocktail recipes, helping friends get their small businesses off the ground, or doing her best to convince dog people that cats deserve a little more credit.
